PROJECT DETAILSThere are few notable projects Tanaka designed but were not built. Many of the design you see here were an alternative scheme to the approved or preferred design. Other projects were not built due to lack of funding or still waiting for the funding. The Phase II of the Los Angeles International Airport Gateway Beautification Enhancement Project was stopped few days after the 9/11 devastation.
Origami Bridge for Metro in Little Tokyo and Ofunato Tsunami Museum for Ofunato City in Japan are two projects that Tanaka dreamed of getting them built.
